JIM
I once had an elderly neighbor named Jim, who would come by my house looking for work. One day I hired him to model for me. He was carrying a hand-carved, metal-tipped cane and wearing a feathered hat. He held the cane as if it were a kings’ scepter or a bishops’ miter and wore his hat like a scion’s crown. This drawing mirrors his regal sense of pride and dignity. Pastel, 24” x 20”
